Clinics

My challenging and empowering riding clinics are designed to help riders increase their confidence, courage and concentration by decreasing fears, failures and frustrations; doubt, distractions and dwelling on mistakes. My clinics are as enjoyable as they are motivational and always include a sport psychology seminar, Q&A and rider fitness bootcamp. Join me and learn how to create strong minds (confidence, courage, concentration), strong bodies (supple, strong, symmetrical) and strong teams (camaraderie, cooperation, communication).

“The laughter made me so happy! I felt free to go jump and just enjoy the ride. What a fantastic clinic! I loved laughing and smiling on my horse like I was a kid again! Made me remember that we all started doing this for the love of the horse.”

The Sour Patch Course Setup

Our clinic is called the Sour Patch and it’s a wonderfully challenging exercise designed to help riders memorize courses, see distances, ride well under pressure, make quick decisions, bounce back after mistakes, and work together as a team.

Course Builder Instructions

  1. We’ll need two sets of jump numbers (large and bold) arranged according to the green #’s on the diagram. Please tape them to the standards before I arrive and ensure one of each number is facing the auditors (this is very important).

  2. Please note that we will need two cones in the arena (I will place them when I arrive).

  3. You may set the distance between the fences, but please ensure that all fences are separated by enough space for horses to pass between them. The two zig-zag lines should be separated by about 40 feet.

  4. Please build this course slightly towards the far end so there’ll be extra space for the auditors to sit behind a line of ground poles (pink lines in the image). The auditors may also be placed in the corner or permanent seating if that works better.

  5. All jump cups should be set to the height of the first group, and the poles set as cross-rails for their warm up.

  6. All fences will be jumped in both directions so please place a ground line on both sides (or one angled ground line)..

  7. Single standards with NO jump fillers work best. Wing standards are fine if you don’t have enough single standards
